Effenus Henderson, President of Henderworks, Inc. and Co-founder of the Institute for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion has been elected Convener of ISO’s Technical Committee 260’s new work group which will guide the development of global standards for diversity and Inclusion.
HR standards are developed by ISO/TC 260, Human resource management, whose secretariat is held by ANSI, ISO’s member for the USA. Committee Chair James Lewis said improving HR performance is not just about staffing, but about aligning the values of an organization throughout and taking all stakeholders into account.

The Institute for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion (ISDI) was founded in November 2015 in part to assume the management of the NW Diversity Learning Series, a collaborative effort sponsored by a number of companies and organizations in the Puget Sound Region (including Nordstrom, Boeing, Alaska Airlines, Outerwall, Weyerhaeuser, Port of Seattle, and others). ISDI is a non-profit organization founded by Barbara Deane, one of the original founders of the NW Diversity Learning Series, and Effenus Henderson, former chief diversity officer for the Weyerhaeuser Corporation.

Seizing the Courage to Have Disruptive Conversations - Imperative for Inclusion
The Northwest Diversity Learning Series (DLS) is a collaborative diversity education model for employers who are located in a in the Seattle area. Employers from all sectors – corporate for-profit, government, non-profit – join together to sponsor a unique series of bimonthly educational workshops that occur over a year's time. Our theme for 2017 is "Seizing the Courage to have Disruptive Conversation - Imperative for Inclusion."
